 Discolored my MacBook Apr 19, 2010

I have a new 13" MacBook - the polycarbonate model. I purchased this sleeve to protect it, since I often take it with me to class and elsewhere. While the padding and design is excellent, I noticed after a few uses that there were light red streaks on my MacBook shell. I worked quickly to try to get rid of the discoloration, which came from the red lining of the sleeve (it is the only thing that touches my MacBook shell and was in several places). Unfortunately, I've only been able to lessen the darkness of the discoloration. The red marks are now a light pink - not too noticeable to most, but there nonetheless. I'm extremely disappointed that a nearly $1,000 laptop was ruined by a sleeve that was meant to protect it from damage.
I did not wash the product before using it and don't plan to. I'd rather not risk more markings on my laptop. Look to other products for your laptop's protection if you are at all concerned about discoloration.

For Toshiba Satellite 13.3" - terrific Jun 20, 2010

As the title says, this was for a Toshiba Satellite 13.3" laptop. The sleeve fits it snugly but easily, providing reasonably light-weight padding for transport in my backpack. I like the 'fold-lock top' design, feeling that it yields easily to insert or withdraw the machine, protects it on all sides, and has no zipper to scratch things or get snagged. The only thing preventing this from being a five-star is that when it arrives, it smells pretty strongly, what to me smelled like that 'old tire yard' aroma. I left it on the back porch a couple of days, reversing it (which is nice if you happen to want a bright red sleeve -- I most surely didn't) and now, a couple of weeks after purchase, the smell is not noticeable at all. I'd recommend it and buy it again if need be. For its humble cost, terrific utilitarian value.

This was advertised as for 13"-13.1" laptops. My Sony Vaio Z is exactly 13.1" but this is way to big for it. Probably a good fit for 14", or a bigger 13.1" laptop. Especially that it's a flexible material. Washing did help a bit, but it's still loose and not a perfect fit. Material and seams are good quality. It can be turned inside out, so it can be used as black and as red as well.

made well, serves it's purpose, great for carrying my "13 macbook in my backpack without fear of it getting damaged or scratched and I am able to take out the laptop without ever taking out the case, and it looks slick as well

This sleeve is a little bigger than I'd anticipated, so it's a bit loose on my white Macbook, but it's very heavy-duty and well constructed. Being so cheap, I feared the material would be super-thin, but it's not. It has a nice weight to it and provides some good padding. It also looks great.
