The fake leather is definitely fake. The first one I received, the packaging was damaged, and the pad was torn on the left side. I returned it for another and got the same thing back, except this time the pad was torn on the right. You could tell by look and feel that this thing was cheap and poorly made. Do not waste your time buying this as I have.

The top of this pad had a lot of places where there didnt seem to be any glue or anything holding it down causing it to look buckled and in need of glue out of the box. The end facing the front was opened up (no glue) allowing you to see the cardboard between the front and back mats. If I had known this is what I would receive I would have NOT purchased this product. Not worth half the price...

Is good for the price you pay! This thing is huge covered good part of my desk, may want to measure where you like your monitor and make sure it is either on it or off it, not half way. Where I like my monitor was only half on and half of the desk pad so I had to move it a little bit back. No biggie with a 25inch screen. Also this thing is dirt cheap quality but looks "ok". Deff not real looking leather but so dark that you really cant tell. One corner came up and off but glued it back down and now it's fine. Great for protecting your desk. Would work great with darker desk but a lighter desk may make the crappy leather stand out more.

This item is fine for the price - it's pretty durable so holds up well. The biggest gripe is that the edge of the mat is sharp so sometimes is uncomfortable to rest your arms on for extended periods of typing/working.

In terms of quality, I would rate it as 'good', its thickness is appropriate, average. The only negative aspect about this is that after almost 2 weeks it started being uneven: there is a like a bump that slightly curves and that makes part of the pad not lay straight on the desk. It's not very noticable, only to the one using it. But since this is not a leather pad, and for its price, it's good.
