5Near perfect  Jan 30, 2010 By C. Ebeling "ctlpareader"
I'm currently using this notebook for my book journal. It looks great: the black lizard cover is attractive and the plain vellum inner boards make for a great place to jot down quotes and other random notes. More than 2/3 of the way through, the binding and gold place-marking ribbon are still hanging in there for which I am grateful because I've been abusive: in addition to writing in this, I glue in freebie bookmarks, things found in used books, pockets for articles and author obituaries.

The paper is a tad thinner than ideal, especially if you are attaching a bookmark or something on coverstock, but it is not ripping. It just waffles under glue. Some of my pens bleed through a bit.

My previous volume was a Black and Red brand journal, the large one that's a little bigger than this in each direction. The paper seemed a little heftier in the Red and Black and the lines were not quite so narrow, which made writing a little more comfortable, but it comes with noisily printed inner boards that you need to cover up to make it your own, unlike this one that starts out with tastefully neutral boards. Both are large, fit in totes or laptop bags and larger backpacks.

5Fantastic Journal  Jan 28, 2011 By Heidi
I was looking for an old-fashioned journal--the type that looks like the fancy guest books that are common today, on which to keep my thoughts, etc. My only requirements were that it be good-sized, hardbound, college-ruled (I can't stand wide-rule), with decent sized margins and a bookmark. This executive journal fits all of my requirements. I was worried that the pages would be too thin and ink would bleed through, and while I think that might be a problem with marker, gel or calligraphy ink type pens, I have not had an issue with your standard ballpoint pen. I think that as long as you don't press down too hard when writing, you won't have any issues with the thickness (or lack thereof) of the pages in this journal.

4Professional and Sharp  Jun 29, 2010 By W. CLAUDIO "Latina Girl"
Got these per my new boss' request. He seems happy. He likes them because they keep his notes organized better than folders with loose papers do. He can keep all of his meeting notes together, so they do not get lost. These notebooks are sturdy enough so you won't need a clipboard or a desk in order to write on them. A little expensive, but nicely made.

1Way way overpriced now!  May 19, 2012 By Jim
I bought one of these last year for HALF the price it's listed at now ($14). It's just a #@##!!## notebook! I'd feel like a fool to buy one of these ever again, at this ludicrous price.

4A great, tough notebook that's easy to label and organize  Sep 11, 2011 By Platinu
Nice, durable notebook for meetings or classes. It's hardback and I like that about it but there are other 'lab style' books that have everything this has but also have other options such as having stickers inside that you can use to easily label it for ease-of-use later when you're looking for 'that certain notebook' and for a lower price.

But for what it is, this isn't a bad notebook.
