Looks nice, safety hazard Jul 25, 2011 By Tim
The color of the finish is nice... and I dont think it would take too much reengineering to turn it into a workable product. Assembly was a little more difficult than other furniture i have assembled due to similar looking but different types of screws, and an instruction manual with somewhat low detail pictures. The main problem is that the cabinet is made out of individual particle board peices that are held together by little pegs that are held in place with nothing other than friction. If you try pushing the assmebled product across the floor it will come apart as it doesnt even have a one piece base. The closest thing it has to stability is provided by the cardboard backing that is nailed on. Since it is totally unstable until the cardboard is nailed on, you must take care to make sure everything is level before nailing the cardboard in or the doors will be crooked. If the manufacturer had added metal fasteners to the particle board where they attach, used a one piece base, and added some horizontal support other than the cardboard, this could have been an excellent cabinet and not a total waste of my time that is probably going to end up in the trash.

Like the other reviewer, I was surprised by the size (my fault for not paying close enough attention to the description). But, it is much nicer looking than anything else I could find at a comparable price and it holds a lot of stuff. It has a flexible shelving system I needed that enables you to store items up to 27.5" tall on one side while also giving you two small adjustable shelves and one full-width adjustable shelf (check out the picture I uploaded). Please note that while the pictures can give the appearance that the cabinet is a dark solid chocolate brown color, it is actually a dark chocolate wood grain pattern. You can zoom in on the pictures to see this and decide if you like it. As far as the construction, it was fairly easy to put together and it is much more solid feeling than cheap storage cabinets I have purchased in the past. As a side note, mine also came with a touch up marker that works great.

Much Smaller Than Appears, but overall good buy Apr 01, 2011 By Penninga
Arrived very quickly as promised. The finish is beautiful, exactly what I expected and matches my decor great. But a few of the pieces were damaged. Since I'm using this for storage in a tucked away place, it's not that big of a deal. But if it were going in my living or kitchen I would be dissapointed. My primarly complaint though is it is not nearly as large as it appears in the pic. I guess if I actually laid out the measurements before buying I wouldn't have been surprised. But the pic looks like a nice big office type storage cabinet. It is really more of a medium sized utility cabinet. But it will work okay for crafts and board games as I intend. Love the locking feature! Overall, it's good buy for the price.

Love it but lots of scratched & dented pieces Mar 01, 2011 By organizing moms
We purchased this locking cabinet to organize all of our childrens arts & craft materials without little hands always getting into it. It's a very nice looking piece that fits in any room in the house. It was a little tricky to put together (directions were not very clear) and there were 6 pieces of the cabinet that either have scratches or dents. Cymax has been super with processing a replacement parts claim and we should have our new pices soon. I would absolutley reccomend this product.

Item arrived damaged in three places. Mar 26, 2012 By S. Fourdrinier
We ordered this storage cabinet for our new condo, to use as a linen closet. It is extremely heavy and we had to hire someone to get it (packed) up three small flights of stairs & assemble it. Once out of packing, we discovered that the item was damaged in three places/. Someone must have really mishandled this because it's not that easy to severely puncture this heavy, thick pressed-plywood/particle wood material. One of the areas damaged is a place where screws go, so it was a complete disaster trying to put it together. As this item weighs A LOT, and took forever to ship to us, we really don't have the time, strength to repackage this monster up, bring it to UPS or wherever and wait for a replacement,...a replacement that may also arrive in the same condition as this one. Not impressed that there is not an option on Amazon for this item to "file a claim" for it being damaged. Apparently your only recourse is to return the ENTIRE thing? Noted. NEVER ordering from this company again.
