| | Description | Crosley's Kettle Classic Desk Phone captures the essence of the classic 1930's European-style telephone. This beauty was originally cast in a heavy duty metal and then later reconditioned in a lightweight thermoplastic giving it a more stylistic approach and curved design. The Kettle Classic Desk Phone successfully combines industrial technology with design-inspired craftsmanship right down to the classic cloth cord. This "fat style" phone features a substantial "hoof" and true to the original incorporates a mechanical bell in the base. | |

Sweet Phone Mar 18, 2007
By Calvin M. Wiley Very heavy and well built phone, great ringer sound, brings back the old days ... Kids hate it because it has a cord, now I need a black and white TV so I can finally have my phone and TV all to myself.
Great Phone.

Crosley Kettle Classic Desk Phone Nov 03, 2006
By R. Weiner
"consultant"
Pros: The phone looks great with antique furniture, and the sound quality is fantastic. Cons: The receiver isn't designed so it can rest on your shoulder -- you have to hold it. The body doesn't have an indentation in the back (below the cradle) so you can easily pick it up. And the ringer is really loud (authentic, but startling). Overall, we like the phone but a few minor design changes would make it perfect.

classic phone Nov 07, 2006
By Suzanne Savlov I have been very disappointed in this phone. I seem to have lost calls. I have been having difficulty with getting dial tones and having conversations suddenly stopped by phone cutting out. The phone looks good but it doesn't operate well and for the price you pay the phone should be good. Wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Feel like I just wasted away my money.

1 star for appearance only Jun 20, 2007
By Lanie This is a very attractive phone to which I put a lot of effort into finding this style. It's location in my home is one where it is not used very often. In 3 months it was used less than half a dozen times. I was shocked and extremely disappointed to try to answer a call recently and hear nothing on the other end. The other caller was able to hear me. There was no dial tone. Even trying different lines and phone jacks did not help. There is no damage to the phone. I have been trying to contact the seller: Northstar Electronics, but have been unable to get through on the phone number listed on Amazon or receive a reply via their e-mail contact. Even if I decide to try to have the phone replaced/repaired by the original manufacture, I will be out another $20 for shipping costs they require. This has been a complete waste of money and a total disappointment! Update: 5/2008-Almost a year later and I never heard back from Northstar Electronics despite many attempts to contact them. I hope the new seller listed on this page is more helpful! I did end up sending the phone to the manufacture (Crosley). It cost me $20, but I did promptly receive a replacement phone which is still working. However, it is not used often and I keep waiting to hear nothing the next time I pick up the receiver. Good luck if you choose to buy.

Not a quality product. Mar 10, 2009
By Jonathas Valle I just got my phone today and I'm ready to return it. Reasons: 1. The web description of the phone is false. This phone does NOT come w/ the promised "cloth cord" shown on the picture, it's just the regular spring plastic one...A big detail for who wants a vintage look phone. 2. The body of the phone( since not in metal ) should be at least a stronger heavier plastic, great disappointment! It looks and feel like a cheap toy phone you might give for babies to play, not at all like a antique. There is no shine or matte treatment to it either, just very ugly and cheap plastic. If you want this phone I recommend the brushed chrome version, which is not as "vintage cool" as a color but it has a way better look and feel to it.
