This lamp is really nice! It uses one bulb (60 watt or less -- another reviewer was uncertain about this point) and it provides a very nice illumination. Not by any means a bright reading lamp, but just a nice touch of lighting in the corner. The shade is ivory fabric -- what the product description inexplicably calls an "off white finish." What I would personally call the "finish" are the dramatic black metal bands. Because it's a Japanese style (clean lines, easy on the eye) it goes great with contemporary decor. All in all a very nice lamp and I'm glad I ordered one.

I bought this lamp for my room. It's more of an ambient light, but it does the trick. Originally I thought it was going to be too short, but it ended up being just the right size. The only thing I'd look out for, is it only has 3 legs. So if you have pets or children that are always running into things. I might not recommend it.

I like the look, and it fits right where I needed to place it. However, I find it challenging to place the bulb. I'm not a very tall woman and I had a hard time trying to place the bulb since my arm wasn't long enough to reach it. I also agree with the comments that more information (e.g. wattage) should be provided in the description.

This is a nice piece to decorate with and it's functional. The lighting isn't too bright and it doesnt get hot so it's safe around kids. I also like the step on button to turn it on.

This is a great looking lamp at an outstanding price. The size is probably a bit too small to be a floor lamp and too big to be a table lamp.
