When I first bought this key safe I tought that it would be safe. It was encased safely into a rubber cover that fit snuggely on the box and I was convince that this safety box was truly safe. So I thought...It was installed last year. Once and while I would check to see if it was in good ordr and it was. I notice one morning that someone had tried to open the rubber cover and see what was inside. I knew this because the cover was left not exactly snug as it is suppose to be. Then last Saturday I locked my self outside. And lo and ehold it would not take the conbination. When the locksmith came, he use a medium size ordinary screwdriver and pop open easily the metal cover and I retrieved my keys...So easy it was for him to open this cover It was scary. So I am giving 1 star and I got a KeySafe Original 5-key Spin-Dial - Black from GE Interlogix SUPRA from a local locksmith store. This one nobody can open this box. I learned my lesson.

Solid construction but small inside Feb 19, 2010 By Matt
This product is well built but the inside dimensions were too small for what I needed. I validated the interior (careful not to confuse with overall unit size) dimensions of the unit before purchasing, but what the specifications failed to clarify is that about 1/2 the stated depth is taken up by the locking mechanism. Misleading. For all of the additional size but limited interior clearance space, there are better options available.

This is a very strong and sturdy all metal box, that comes with everything needed to attach it several ways. Under the fender or in places subject to water spray, grit and grime should be no problem for this unit as it is very adequately sealed and fastened when in place. It mounts on the strong rubber gasket supplied, and the rubber cover comes over and seals tightly and has a strong latch feature that makes sure it stays in place. The key safe is completely enclosed and concealed in that sealed environment.

It would be very difficult to breach this unit, by "breaking" into it, or trying to remove it. Unless someone knew what they were looking for, it might go undetected as being a key safe of any sort.

The combination is easy to set or change, and the push button operation has a mechanical feedback insuring your input.

This is a good, secure, and unobtrusive way to be sure you don't get locked out of your car, or for keeping any valuables safe.

this product is amazing. I owned one when I live out east and it saved me from being locked out on several occasions. It also allowed friends to access my home in emergency situations in order to take care of my dog. I purchased this one for my new home in the city. Now I don't have to worry about being locked out ever.
