Description

Staples papers together without staples! Yes, really. This is how it works: The Eco Staple Free Stapler cuts out tiny strips of paper in the corner of your documents and uses these strips to "stitch" up to five pages of standard paper together. No more metal staples (so that's good for the planet and your wallet). Ideal for paper shredders. Child safe. Uses no metal staples. Creates no paper waste. Safe for children.

4It works!  Oct 27, 2005 By D. Steiner
It's not as permanent as a staple, and the limit is 5 pages, but for what it does, it's very well designed. It punches a hole and threads a strip through another strip. The pages can be pulled apart without tearing, but under ordinary circumstances they hold together very well.

5Great gadget - works as advertised  Jan 15, 2007 By C. S. Funk "todnshay"
I got this for putting papers together for my sunday school class so I wouldn't have to worry about the small children and staples. I find it works quite well. It does put a very small rectangular hole in the papers which is not a big deal. It does NOT require any more effort or force as other reviewers noted than a regular stapler (however I have the platic one and not the chrome, but I can't imagine it would be just so hard as one reviewer noted...time to hit the gym if this is a workout). My five year old can use it. It seems to work just like a paper punch if you are familiar with those. I think it's great and almost a necessity now at our house. I even thought about getting them for my daughter's teachers.

5Good product  Nov 12, 2006 By Dawn Crosby
For those who don't like staples this is a great way to keep papers together. I use it daily on stone tickets in our business as staples cause the stacks to be much taller than I want. I would recommend this item to anyone.

3Meh...  Sep 22, 2010 By taletreader
I'm a little upset by my experience with this stapler. I didn't expect it to work exactly like a regular stapler, but I expected it to work fairly well with the mass amounts of attention it's gotten. I was told it'd work well with papers about 3-4 pages thick, and since I print my essays double-sided, I knew most of my essays would be the perfect size for the stapler. I went about telling everyone how environmentally friendly my stapler was, even asking people to come try it out if they wanted to see the "magic" in action. So, first demonstration, I used the stapler on 2 sheets of paper. It worked great at first, but if you turn pages (which teachers will have to do when reading your essays...), it falls apart. And that's with TWO sheets of paper. I've tried it countless times since then, but every time I get an essay back, it's all mixed up and unorganized. I even got points taken away on my last essay for not having it "correctly" stapled.

So, I can sit here and brag about my eco-friendly stapler, but I'm not going to brag about its performance. Plus, it's TINY, and Amazon shipped it in a huge box. Not so eco-friendly.
