Great pens, short life; similar to other reviewers Dec 20, 2009
By H. S. Pope
"Spidurman"
I began purchasing these pens (red, blue & black) a few months ago for my staff and they love them. We do a lot of handwritten documentation and the erasable pen is a major improvement over white-out. Our documents turn out much neater than before and we experience less hand cramping (due to starting something over completely after a non-erasable mistake). The friction design works well and, in most cases, removes all signs of ink on the paper, unlike other erasable pens or even pencil, sometimes.
The ink color on the paper is not as crisp (appears slightly faded) as other pens by Pilot (i.e. rollerball, felt tip). For us, this is an acceptable drawback for the convenience of an erasable pen in most situations. This may be a function of the design of the ball point (not fine or ultra fine) and ink-type, which make the ink easier to erase. We do have a supply of standard rollerball or other pens that we use in certain situations, when needed.
As for longevity, these pens score pretty low. We go through a box of these pens (12 pens) in half the time (if not less) as we did other pens in the past.
Pros: -Extremely convenient -Ink virtually (or literally) disappears from the paper, only a minimal trace in some cases
Cons: -short life -great concept; poor design -graphics are childish -shape is inconsistent with better quality pens, like rollerballs -Why isn't eraser on cap?! You have to remove the cap from the end of the pen when you need to erase.
We will continue to buy these pens due to their convenience, but will continue hope for design improvements or competition to address the ink and physical design problems.

Pilot Erasable Pens Oct 07, 2009
By Kat These erasable pens are terrific! They erase thoroughly and don't leave smudges. Particularly good for editors and proofreaders.
FAVORITE PENS Oct 22, 2010
By StacySue These are truly erasable pens and they write so smoothly! I'm hooked and I don't use any other pens (except when I'm writing checks or signing my name...you know, because I don't want those things to have erasable ink. Yeah, that would be bad.)
The Best Sep 14, 2009
By Ruth E. Minshull This is the best erasable pen I've ever used. Others do not erase as well and, after a certain time, will not erase at all. I use this (in red) for working crossword puzzles and cryptograms. It's the best!
I look forward to working now! Mar 31, 2009
By Stephanie Sakson I love this pen. I don't care whether it runs out sooner or later, I just enjoy the feel of it and the erasability. It makes working more fun! It writes as smoothly as a fancy fountain pen (believe me, I've had them) but erases! And with no little squigglies all over your desk! I am in heaven. Thank you, Pilot, and thank you, Amazon, for carrying it. And now I am going to order some in black. (The only minor problem that I have found is that the eraser should be on the cap, not on the pen, as is the case with other erasable pens.)
