It came out of the box brand new and works like it too. It's a good small trash can and if I needed two I would buy another.

Looked great, but arrived broken. The bolt that held the pin secure that allowed the lid to lift was missing; I returned the trash can. I considered requesting a replacement, but my family complained that a pedal operated trash can wasn't ideal NEXT to the toilet.
