2It depends on your needs, budget and quality demands  Feb 11, 2012 By drjby4
Be warned that this product is actually made of particle board. My wife just bought this here on amazon not knowing that, and it is simply too late and expensive to return.

This product looks decent, but not spectacular. If you are handy, it is not difficult to assemble. If you are not, it may frustrate you.

As it is made of particle and fiber board, I personally would not have paid more than $100 for it. Particle board is very cumbersome (up to twice as heavy as wood) and not very durable. If you want something that can be moved from time to time, this product is not for you. Particle board simply doesn't hold together well, fasteners tend to pull out and once that happens, it's all over. When moving a product like this, you must make sure to use enough people so that it doesn't drag, get bumped or even get slightly twisted; otherwise, there go your joints and corners.

If you are on a budget and don't plan to move or travel with this cabinet and keep it in a moisture humidity free place, it may be for you. If you want something a little more durable and lighter that lasts, spend the extra money to get an all wood cabinet or go metal.

I personally detest all things particle board! Eventually, it just ends up being money down the drain. I would always sell or trash a piece of particle board furniture before moving with it. Though I applaud the three Rs, the Re-use of saw dust and wood particles in my opinion would be better served in a compost pile; and save on a lot of glue and formaldehyde.

3Hard To put together  Mar 27, 2012 By TH
Hard to put together 4 hours. It is what I needed but poor assembly instruction. You have to put it together backwards of what you think.Had to take apart several times to get it right.

3Took FOREVER to assemble...  Dec 04, 2011 By TMB
Let's start with how heavy the box for this item is. I didn't have far to move it, but even sliding it on hardwood floors is very hard. The instructions list 18 steps for assembly. Though the pictures are good and well labeled, the parts are not, with it being VERY difficult to tell the top from the bottom in some cases (having had to pull apart several things and re-assemble I wasn't very happy). The lock on this unit is also a joke. I'm going to work on that.

Since I JUST got through a 4 hour assembly I will not have time to actually put files in it today...I may update the review once I get to that point.

Understand that you're getting a very hard to assemble, very heavy particle board unit which for the price is 'meh' at best.
