Works best if you need the whole brick Jun 29, 2009
By Noname They these away at Target free with a rebate. I decided to try them for my shipping needs. I tend to ship small items and the idea of having peanuts stored away in a limited space was attractive. It was easy to buy and store. However, when I needed it, I only needed a small volume of it. I had to be careful to take out only what I needed or else the rest of it would fall all over the floor. It still sits half-packed in a box (so they don`t fall everywhere), but I wish it would stay together more firmly until I broke off what I need.
The way it's designed, they intend for us to break one entire brick into a box with each use. Actually, the instructions show the user using two bricks. Break one brick into the box. Place product into the box. Break second brick into the box. In the design of the bricks and instructions, they don't take into account that the size of boxes may vary.
The peanuts are lightweight and provide adequate protection. They don't cling or have any dust, which is very nice. I like the whole concept, but they need smaller bricks so we can more easily choose the quantity we want or else make the bricks stay together better so we can break off only what we need.
