Nothing like TI-83 graphing calculator Aug 06, 2008 By Shopping Queen
I ordered this Sentry Graphing Calculator because of it's claim of "Compare to TI-83 calculator". I'm taking a Statistics class and this calculator is nothing like the TI-83. I was trying to save money, but now I'm going to purchase the TI-84 as previously recommended by my professor in the first place. I shouldn't have to read the manual to figure out which buttons are comparable to the buttons on the TI-83. I received great customer support from this vendor when the calculator went missing in transit, but I'm very dissatisfied with the product I received. Buyer Beware......the saying "You get what you pay for" is right on the money this time !!!

DO NOT BUY THIS Jan 22, 2011 By C. Stilwell "chartx"
I bought this at Kroger - it was on sale for $15 and I thought what a fabulous bargain. I need it for finite math and calculus this semester but I really don't see myself using a graphing calculator (accounting major). This is the biggest piece of junk ever. I ordered a TI 84 and paid for expedited shipping - I can't even do my homework for the first week of class on the Sentry. The screen is so small and the graphs are, for lack of a better word, impossible to read. They are pixel-y to the point that if you need to determine a point on a graph, providing you don't get an error even for the most simple equations, you might as well just make a guess because you won't be able to tell where on the graph it is. The instructions probably would make sense if I already knew how to use the calculator - impossible.

I rarely write negative reviews but if this saves just one student the frustration and aggravation this calculator has caused me, I'm glad I wrote it.
