I have had this lamp for 24 hours. It appears to be well-made and provides adequate light at the top two settings, but be aware that LED lights like this one light the work space just below but provide relatively little diffused light to the surrounding area. Each of the three arms is about 14 inches, so you need a work space of about 2 feet square to use it comfortably. The "warm" light seems about the same color to me as the halogen I used before, though not quite as bright. The arrangement of six lights along a 14-inch arm means that I can position it so that my hand doesn't cast a shadow on what I'm writing, a boon to left-handers. I particularly like the fact that it uses very little power. And, most important, it really looks cool on my desk.

The Z-Bar is a well made product; I purchased it because of its low consumption led lights. The lamp can be positioned in almost any way you want. I use it in our home office by the monitor and it works great! The brightness can be customized to your taste and it does not affect the LCD monitor or the eyes at all. Overall this is a great lamp; I would give it 5 stars if wasn't for its price, it is a little bit on the pricey side.

This lamp is rock solid, provides excellent reading and task lighting, and is adjustable along every necessary axis. It also becomes rather invisible within my desktop "skyline", never getting in the way or obstructing my view.
Yes, there are less expensive lighting solutions, and I was skeptical when I ordered this. However, its performance exceeds my high expectations, and I can see (now that I've actually laid hands on it vs. viewing its 2-dimensional image on my monitor) that it is built for the long haul.
